Upon completion of all course requirements, you will receive "letter" grade and official transcripts. The courses are regularly scheduled courses offered through normal channels of the college (Cooperative Education Division) and appear in the catalogue and schedule of classes. Students who desire their home university to accept these credits must seek approval of their home school before enrolment. This usually involves a "petition" form from the study abroad office or general advisement center. On this form you would list the American College by name, number, and total number of credits of planned enrolment. You should indicate to which course(s) at your home university/college you wish Credit to be transferred (i.e. Human 291 10 quarter credits) - and that you want it to count, for example, as Spanish 3 (3 semester) and Spanish 4 (3 semester) at your home college. Your advisor should assist you with this petition application form. At the time you present your petition form, you are also advised to present copies of the course syllabi from the American College along with any curriculum material from your Eurolingua Institute language immersion programme. This should include if possible: Number of hours in classroom spent on reading, speaking, listening, writing; Number of hours living with homestay family. Sample lessons, readings, tests, name of textbook if any, cultural excursions planned, etc. The more Eurolingua material you provide, the better is your chance of proving the academic worthiness of the programme and that it equals or exceeds your home school curriculum It rests with the home school advisor to accept the credit as either lower or upper division credit.
