South of France (Montpellier, Nice) and Martinique (French Caribbean)
The Eurolingua Institute offers 3 or 6 months Hotel Work Experience Programme in the region of Montpellier and Nice, South of France, for participants aged 18 to 35 years. During the summer, we accept applications for 2 months. Work placements are in the Hotel/Campsite Industry. EU citizens do not require a visa. Some non-EU citizens do not require a visa for upto 90 days (see country list). For citizens of other countries, check the procedure to obtain a French Visa.

An intermediate level of French is required to be accepted for a placement. Participants must attend weekly French lessons. These lessons are included in the programme. For a 3 month placement: 15 hours group tuition or 5 individual hours. For a six month placement: 30 hours group tuition or 10 individual hours. Alternatively, participants may elect to take these lessons over the week prior to starting the placement. This is good preparation for their work experience programme. In this case, it may be possible to join an intensive group programme at the Eurolingua Institute in Montpellier. Please note that before starting the work experience programme, participants will be responsible for their own accommodation and meals.

Applications should be submitted at least 8 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.

Eurolingua French Work Programme ("Stage")

• Appropriate skills and previous experience are recommended
• An intermediate level (B2) of spoken French is required
• "stagiaires" must attend inclusive classes during the programme
• Positions available : breakfast service, waiter/waitress, bar, kitchen assistant, reception (for "stagiaires" with good intermediate level French and experience)
• 39 to 42 working hours per week (straight shifts or split shifts)
• 2 non-consecutive days off
• Accommodation in staff quarters (usually shared) and meals are provided by the hotel/campsite
• "Stagiaires" receive a net allowance of 200 Euro per month
• A uniform of black shoes, white shirt/top, black trousers/skirt, black tie/bow tie is required
• 2 to 4 Star hotels, restaurants and campsites in and around Montpellier or along the Mediterranean coast
• Placements are not in the city centre (work placements are outside the city but with access by bus or train)
• A work placement requires stamina and self-motivation because of the long working hours
• Starting date: any day but preferably on a Monday

All hotels and camping sites are visited by the Eurolingua Institute to verify the quality of the placement.
