A unique experience ..........!! FAQQ What is the minimum age for a French Hotel Work Experience Placement? A The minimum age for a French Hotel Work Experience Placement is 18. Q Do I need experience in the hotel and catering industry? A You do not need experience but if you have experience you will know the work, be more relaxed in your placement and only have to cope with the language. If you have experience it may be easier for us to find a placement for you. Q Who is this programme for? A 1) EU students who have a good level of French, are motivated, positive young people looking for a low-cost opportunity to be in France to improve their French 2) Non-EU students, in full-time education, who have a good level of French, are motivated, positive young people who need a work placement to validate their studies Q How long is the programme? A For people from Europe the placement can be minimum of 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months or 12 months. For non-Europeans, who can come to Europe without applying for a visa, the placement is 2 or 3 months. Q How many hours will I be working? A You will be working up to 42 hours per week. You may work straight shifts or split shifts so you will not work from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evening. You may start early in the morning and finish in the middle of the afternoon or, you may start early morning and work until the middle of the morning then start again late in the afternoon and work until late in the evening. Q Will I start at 9am in the morning? A No you will not always start at 9 in the morning. You may start at 6 in the morning or 11 in the morning. Sometimes you may not work in the mornings. The time you start each day will depend on your placement. Q What is the cost of a French French Hotel Work Experience Placement? A 2 to 3-month placements cost 750 Euro, 4 to 6-month placements cost 950 Euro, 7 to 9 month placements cost 1150 Euro, 10 to 12 month placements cost 1350 Euro. Q Can I take French language lessons? A French lessons are included in the cost of your programme. Included are 5 French lessons for a 3-month placement and 10 lessons for a placement of 6 or more months. The lessons are taken during your placement and you will be given the programme when you meet your co-ordinator. The number of hours per lesson depends on the number of students attending the lesson. If you are the only student you will have 1 hour per lesson. Q Will there be lots of things to do in my spare time after work? A There will be things to do when you are not working. Remember the hotel and catering industry work anti-social hours. The time when you are not working will be the time when other people are working or already in bed. You may, particularly at the beginning, have to be happy to be on your own. The people you work with will tell you the places you can go to. Q Will I be working with other people my age? A Not always. You may be the only stagiaire and the other employees will be older. Q. Will I need a visa? A. 1) if you are from an EU country you will not need a visa. 2) if you are from a non-EU country you may need a visa. You should check with the French embassy web site. If you need a visa, to be accepted on the programme, you MUST be in full-time education and be able to send us a certificate from your school/college/university stating that you need to undertake a work placement to validate your studies. |
