Your host and teacher, Carmel, has a teaching diploma and experience as a TEFEL teacher teaching adults in a comfortable home environment on the east coast of Ireland. She specialises in adult English for situations from social to business English. She offers a warm, bright personality and likes meeting people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. She keep a clean, well run home and is a good cook. The two bed roomed town house has all modern conveniences including a sun room and a small flower garden complete with two house cats and is a non-smoking environment. It is situated in Killiney, a magnificent seaside setting on the coast of Dublin Bay, five minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes walk from the train station. Only 35 minutes by electric train (DART) from the heart of Dublin, close enough to the city yet far away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The Dublin and Wicklow mountains and the magnificent countryside of County Wicklow, the Garden of Ireland is on the doorstep! Located within a 10 mile radius of Dublin City which offers all the amenities of any capital city such as Theatre, Cinema and Museums. It also offers many bus tours of the city and countryside and is the gateway to the rest of Ireland. The area offers golf, horse riding, swimming and walking in magnificent scenery. Dalkey Village just below the hill is a charming medieval town, its history dates back over 3,500 years. It has been designated a Heritage Town - a prestigious accolade. Located alongside the Town Hall and next to St. Begnet's Church, the Heritage Centre serves as a central focus for the historical and cultural development of the town and will convey to visitors the richness of this unique area. It is also renowned for its pubs and restaurants which are local to such stars as U2 band and Enya who live in the area.
