Nearby Cambridge is easily accessible by train, bus or car and offers visitors an opportunity to wander around the city centre admiring the 36 colleges, which comprise Cambridge University. No visit to Cambridge would be complete without a visit to Kings College Chapel and taking the chance to glide along the river Cam in a punt appreciating the famous University. Cambridge boasts a world-renowned Botanical Garden. There is an active music and theatre programme available throughout the year. If you are interested in horses or just fancy a flutter then Newmarket, the home of British horseracing is the venue for a lively evening racing. There is a direct and express train service to London (1 hour) which affords many options for a fascinating day out: London Eye, Tourist Bus and Cruise tour, House of Parliament (summer only), Buckingham Palace, Portobello or Camden market, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower of London and of course you may wish to finish the day with a show in a West End Theatre. Accommodation comprises a large modern style detached family house. There is a comfortable double and single room available for students offering a desk, a lamp and fitted wardrobe. Students have use of the TV, broadband PC point, DVD, CD player and CD’s, and telephone and fax facilities (for incoming calls only). There is a separate private bathroom with bath, electric power shower, sink and shaver-point. The accommodation is very comfortable; with 4 reception rooms there is plenty of living space and a separate teaching room. There is parking space for student vehicles, and access to a bicycle for those who wish to be more active. The station, town and shops are an easy walk from the house. There is a large garden where students can relax and enjoy their time when not studying. |
