Munich is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany for a German Language school. Thousands of visitors from all over the world come to Munich every day and are impressed by the historical centre. To the Germans, Munich is one of the best cities in which to live. It has an irresistible charm with its unique spirit and the typically Bavarian way of life. With the many cultural events, the busy night-life and, of course, the famous beer gardens, you will never be short of something interesting to do in Munich.

The Institute
The German Language school is situated in the heart of Munich in an historical building, in a similar location to that of our German language school in Berlin. It has very easy access from anywhere in Munich. The nearest underground station, with six different lines, is within one minute's walking distance from the school. In our 15 classrooms students from all over the world meet to learn German together. A student library is at the disposal of those who want to continue their studies after the lessons and the teachers are always available with tips and advice. The cafeteria is a popular meeting place during the breaks and also enables an intensive interchange between students and teachers out of lesson time. Here, joint activities for the evenings and weekends are planned and these often form the beginning of a lasting friendship - not only with other students and teachers, but also with the city of Munich. Many of our students return to visit more than once.

Programmes
Programmes are from two weeks to a full year, beginner to advanced level. German is taught by the direct method which focuses on German conversation from the very start but with an appreciation of all communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will learn to speak fluent German after only a very short time. Classes are very small with never more than ten students and lessons are completely interactive, using recent and typically German topics.

Classes
The standard programme consists of four lessons (45 minutes) Monday to Friday (09h00 - 12h30) with 4 to 10 students and may be supplemented by additional one-to-one personalised lessons in the afternoon.

Activities
So that you can learn to speak fluent German, enjoy the city and its surroundings to the fullest extent, we organise visits to beer gardens, beer festivals, other fairs, cultural events and similar. Idyllically situated at the foot of the Alps, the Bavarian capital Munich, with its 1.2 million inhabitants, is famous for its "Oktoberfest". In addition to the modern buildings, countless gothic and baroque churches characterise the cityscape and contribute to the unique charm which makes Munich so popular all over the world whatever the season.  Munich caters to all tastes: sport on the Olympic site or spectacular football matches, exhibitions in museums or galleries, theatres, cinemas and international film festivals, fashion, concerts ranging from classical music to techno, discos and much more is on offer. In the summer, one can sit in a beer garden, swim in one of the many lakes in or around Munich or go on a day-trip to Schloß Neuschwanstein, the fairy tale castle of King Ludwig II. In the winter, when the city is covered in snow, people drink "Glühwein" at the Christkindl Market or go skiing in the nearby Alps.

Accommodation
Bed and breakfast is provided with carefully selected host families, where a double room is shared with another student of different nationality. Half board and single rooms are available at extra cost. Our student residence or a private apartment is available for those students who would like to be more independent. We also organise hotels and youth hostels.

Work Experience Counselling Service
Upon completion of the German course, we may be able to place students with at least good intermediate level German on a work experience or internship.
