The Eurolingua French Hotel Programme enables students attending recognised institutions in their own country to come to France, boost their French language skills to a level acceptable by Hotel Directors, and then participate in a French hotel work experience/internship in accordance with French law and regulations.
Although it is not mandatory, students may also be able to take the CFTH (Certificat de Français du Tourismne et de l'Hôtellerie) Paris Chamber of Commerce examinations to further validate their studies.
The Eurolingua French Hotel Programme is offered as follows:-
(1) 2-week French course (A2+ minimum level) with 6 month hotel placement. Only students who can demonstrate that, before arrival in France, they are already competent to at least the A2 level on the Council of Europe Grading Scale will be admitted. The published programme fee is: 1990 Euro. Accommodation before starting the French hotel work experience/internship is extra as required. As a guide, host families in the university town of Montpellier charge 24 Euro per night for half-board (room, breakfast and evening dinner). If requested, Eurolingua will arrange such accommodation without charge as long as students pay their host family direct on arrival, otherwise Eurolingua has to make a 80 Euro per student service charge to handle the transaction.
-
Hotel trainees ('stagiaires') receive 200 Euro per month stipend, plus staff accommodations and meals.
-
Hotel trainees ('stagiaires') receive a Eurolingua Diploma and/or a Letter of Recommendation from the hotel.
(2) 4-week course (A1 minimum level) with 6 month hotel placement. The Eurolingua French Hotel Programme is an excellent programme for Hotel Management Students, and others interested in hospitality and tourism, to spend 6 months in the South of France improving their French language skills within the hotel industry. This is an ideal programme for students wishing to validate their studies at their home university or institution. As hotel trainees receive a monthly stipend and most accommodation and meal costs are already covered, the actual net cost is very modest for the opportunity gained.
