Teaching Qualifications and Experience
BA in Pedagogy (Class B) University of Sherbrooke 1960. Taught ESL in Highschool for three years and French in Mexico City for 15 years. Experienced French homestay tutor, specialising in oral communication for business people, professionals, civil servants and young adults.

Hobbies and Interests
Reading (history, politics, economics, psychology, education, novels). Likes golf, swimming and meeting friends old and new.

Excursions and Local Attractions
Québec City, the oldest city and cradle of French civilisation in North America; Fortified City with its maze of narrow streets; Artillery Park; Museums; the Place Royale and the Petit Champlain with their art and craft boutiques; restaurants and bistrots; the Old Port; the Citadelle; the immortal Château Frontenac on the St Lawrence River with its wonderful boardwalk (a skating rink in Winter); Chutes Montmorency; the Ile d'Orléans; the Ste-Anne de Beaupré Basillica; the Indian Village of the Hurons; the Mont Ste-Anne skiing station; the Village des Sports; the Golf Royal. In February is the Winter Carnaval and in summer, the International Summer Festival when the city explodes with music and theatre.

Accommodation, Facilities and Local Area
A lovely, comfortable, high-ceilinged, stone detached house with swimming pool, situated in a luxurious residential area in the centre of Greater Québec. The house is close to the museums and other tourist attractions in Old Québec, with its cobbled streets, and within easy access of the ski slopes, the St Lawrence River, the fantastic Plaines of Abraham park, and the shopping malls.

The student has a beautiful, professionally designed room, on the main floor, with double bed, bureaux, many lamps, writing desk, TV and adjacent private bathroom. On the same floor is the entrance hall and stairs, dining room, living room with fireplace, kitchen, and office/classroom with internet and fax. Outside is a big garden with swimming pool, barbecue area and patio where many happy reunions take place. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, a sunny mezzanine and a large bathroom where the owner and 2 young French-speaking University students live.
