Degree and Masters obtained in 1983 and 1984. Extensive experience teaching French as a foreign language to groups and providing individual French lessons, both in France and abroad.
Hobbies and Interests
Cooking is part of French culture ! Farid is a very good cook who likes introducing French cuisine to students who are interested in French receipes. He also has an extensive video collection of movies and documentaries. A great tool to learn more about French significant issues and concerns
Excursions and Local Attractions
Lyon (20 minutes by train/car), Lyon 'Old Town' and Renaissance buildings, Beaujolais, Dombes, Pérouges (cité médiévale), Parc aux Oiseaux de Villars les Dombes. Other attractions include horse-riding, bicycle riding, golf, hiking and many cultural activities.
Accommodation, Facilities and Local Area
A lovely 3-bedroomed villa in a residential neighbourhood, situated in Mionnay, near Lyon, and in a countryside setting. Living room with fireplace and kitchen opening on to the private garden, two bathrooms, each with walk-in shower. A large terrace with barbecue and garden furniture. Satellite TV.
Ideally situated in the Dombes area, well-known for its numerous meres and birds, very close to the Beaujolais vineyards and to Lyon, the second-largest city in France, classified as part of the UNESCO world heritage.
Véronique works part-time as an executive secretary with a local company. Her husband, Farid, is an engineer working from home on flexible time and can therefore also participate in providing French conversation with the student. They have a son (22/01/95). The couple have travelled extensively and have an open-minded view on life. They love to help students discover French language and culture. Staying with them will give you the touch of the authentic French way of life you're longing to experience first hand.
