During your stay you can discover the city of Tours and its artistic and historical background. Touraine offers an incredible wealth of sites, monuments and attractions, worthy of it's international renown. The Loire valley is world famous for its prestigious châteaux : Chenonceau, Chambord, Amboise, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau. Visits to museums, wine tasting, village festivals, religious festivals, village and town markets etc. Tours is both very French and very European, located at the hub of a communications network with extensive facilities for visitors and a well-developed taste for good living. The city's history and energetic restoration policy have left Tours with a rich heritage.

Your tutor's husband, Alain (1946), is a Real Estate agent. Children: Bertrand (1974) et Grégoire (1976). The urban area of Tours (nearly 300.000 inhabitants) has a leading part to play in the Loire Valley. It is only one hour from Paris by high-speed train.

Tour was first a gallo-Roman settlement (1st - 4th centuries), home to the kings of France in the 15th and 16th centuries, and a provincial capital in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is an attractive city where people come to enjoy the cultural, artistic and gastronomic resources.
