Buenos Aires

Learn to speak Spanish like a native ..........!!

Español como lengua extranjera
The Republic of Argentina, independent since 1816 with a constitution from 1853, is a huge country (2,771,300 km²) with a population of only 31 million, 97% European, mostly Spanish and Italian. The terrain is varied with a predominantly temperate climate (5-15°c in the winter, 25-32°c in summer. The languages spoken are Spanish, English, Italian, German, French.
The capital, Buenos Aires, has a population of 11 Million, is the most European-like city in Latin America with an incredible and vibrant night life. The people are highly literate and cultured. Transportation is efficient and inexpensive. Buenos Aires is one of the safest cities in the world.
Truly a world-class city, Buenos Aires boasts European sophistication while retaining Latin charm. With countless bars and cafes, flavorful neighborhoods, and a nocturnal population, the city offers diversions for many weeks, or even months, of exploration. Even with the energy supplied by the porteños and the nightlife, Buenos Aires is a remarkably safe city at all hours and students will feel comfortable in our neighborhood. Standards of living are high, and even drinking the local tap water presents no problems.

The Institute
Our school is conveniently located in one of Buenos Aires’ best neighborhoods. Close to the school are many parks, restaurants, and cafes. The school facilities include spacious recreational rooms, a rooftop terrace, and comfortable classrooms. Group classes (max 5),
Group classes (max 6) and one-to-one instruction are available year-round. All teachers are university-educated and well experienced in teaching Spanish to foreigners. All Latin Immersion Argentina courses are approved for credit by the Universidad de la Marina Mercante, and students can receive an official university transcript for their studies in Buenos Aires. All Latin Immersion Argentina courses are approved for credit by the Universidad Abierta Interamericana.

The Programme
Standard courses are 20 hours per week with a maximum of 5 students per class or with a maximum of 6 students per class. Students may also choose to supplement the group course with private lessons in the afternoon. Specialised individual courses (business, health care, law, etc.) are available for students with such needs. Classes focus on the four prime areas of Spanish communication: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Standard class textbooks are supplemented with school audio and visual aids.

Teachers
All teachers are university educated and trained in teaching Spanish to foreigners. We encourage our students to be part of the Latin Immersion overall experience and many of them participate in school activities along with the students.

College Credit
Students requiring college credit receive transcripts from the local university. Transcripts are stamped by the Ministry of Education and transfer directly to most universities. Students requiring college credit receive transcripts stamped by the local university. Transcripts are transfered directly to most universities.

Activities and Excursions
Latin Immersion maintains an active calendar for cultural and social activities and weekend excursions. The activities are an excellent way to not only receive exposure to the culture, but to also make friends with other students from around the world.

Accommodation
We encourage our students to choose the family homestay option, as it is one of the best ways to not only practice Spanish away from class, but also to experience the local culture firsthand.
In addition to family homestays, we can also provide students with shared or private apartments.

Volunteer Placement
We encourage all eligible students to participate in our volunteer programs. An excellent way to help the community AND practice Spanish, a schedule of morning Spanish classes and afternoon volunteer work is easily arranged.

Internships and Work Experience
Combination program in Bariloche: Latin Immersion can give you the option to combine or continue your studies in its sister school in Bariloche, the most beautiful city in the Argentinian Patagonia.
