Teaching Qualifications and Experience
David is a qualified teacher of English [Nottingham Univesity] and has worked in the area of Special Education for more than thirty years, mainly in Senior Management positions. He is a Master of Psychology & Law [Portsmouth University] and also holds qualifications in Social Work [Advanced Certificate in Social Work, Chichester University], Business [Diploma in Performance Management, Newcastle College] and TEFL. David enjoys visiting places of historical interest, music, travel and reading. He also enjoys playing the guitar and is able to offer tuition in this. David has worked with foreign students since 1989.

Excursions and Local Attractions
We are situated in an area of oustanding natural beauty. There are many local sites of interest e.g.castles, cathedrals, coastline etc. Scotney Castle, Bodiam Castle, Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury, London, Rye, Hastings, Calais.
Accommodation, Facilities and Local Area
We live in an historic 4 bedroomed Forgemasters house and labourer's cottage c1695, converted into one property ten years ago, and situated in small village in Kent, near to East Sussex border in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The garden abuts a lake. Good local facilities and easy access to many historical sights e.g. Canterbury. As we have a group National Trust membership card, we can offer free entry to many local castles and gardens. Many places of historic interest, for example Canterbury, are situated locally and London is within easy reach. Gatwick is one hour away and Heathrow two hours.
Students have a choice of single or double bedroom. The double room has private bathroom facilities. We have a large lounge/library, large kitchen with breakfast area, dining room, 3 wcs. A small supermarket, post office, newsagent and garage are 100 metres away. Broadband is available.
David lives with his wife, Tracy who is a qualified hairdresser and who has also worked in residential care with young people for many years. Tracy enjoys travelling, reading, listening to music and gardening.
Their daughter, Summer was born in 1997. Summer enjoys swimming, netball, drama, music and singing.
We have two very friendly black cats. As we live by a lake, if the Summer months are hot, we are visited by many interesting insects!
