Accommodation, Facilities and Local Area
Bamberg is located in Northern Bavaria, it is one of the most romantic German cities with more than 1000 years of history: a treasure chest of architecture and living piece of history. The town has some 70,000 inhabitants, a modern university, a symphonic orchestra of worldwide reputation, many festivals and a great diversity of sport activities. The climate is quite dry, not too hot in summer, hardly anywhere else in Germany it is raining less. Mediterranean atmosphere in summertime with innumerable street cafes and beer gardens. The teacher's family (husband, son and dog) lives in a large house with garden and terrace in a quiet residential area, close to the town centre, situated on one of Bamberg's seven hills. The students will be living in a spacious private room with view from the balcony, king size bed, TV, WiFi, separate toilet. It takes about 15 minutes by feet or by public bus, or 5 minutes by bike (available for the students) to the centre.
