Teaching Materials

All of our English teachers are university graduates with TEFL certificates, many with experience of living and working abroad. Edgewater College has a variety of teachers from all over the world, including Ireland, UK, America, Australia and Canada.

We regularly organise social events for the students, giving you the opportunity to meet new people and have fun!

Students can use the computer lab during school hours. This is free and has internet access. We also have free Wi-Fi throughout the building, which students can access from their laptops.

Students can join the Edgewater College library, where we have a range of books, magazines, DVDs, CDs etc to help with your studies.

Methodology

When you come to an English course at Edgewater College, you know you will get the best personal attention from our highy qualified, native English speaking teachers.

With small class sizes (no more than 15 students per class) and a focus on improving your communication skills, Edgewater College is the place to be if you want to learn or improve your English.


Social and Cultural Activities

Afternoon Activities include:
Bowling, Swimming, Karaoke, Table Quiz, Treasure Hunt, Cinema, Sports.

Fun Trips include:

Accommodation

Depending on the student, we can provide accommodation to suit your needs.

Host Family Accommodation:
Edgewater College have a wide selection of carefully selected families that are regularly inspected to ensure the higest standards are met. Host family accomodation is the “classic option”, where students are placed in carefully selected Irish families. All of our host families are friendly and interested in the students they host. Susie, our accommodation officer visits each to ensure that the highest possible standards are maintained. Most of our host families live within walking distance of the school, if it is a case that they are not – then we will organise transport to and from school.

Host families can provide Full-board or Half-board accommodation as requested.

Hostel:
We can arrange hostel accommodation in a local, friendly hostel near to the college. Ideal for individuals, or groups looking for typical hostel accommodation.

Guest House:
Edgewater College have strong relationships with a number of excellent guest houses in the town of Drogheda. These guest houses are approved by the Irish tourist board and provide comfortable, top-quality rooms for very affordable rates.

Hotel:
Drogheda has a number of high class hotels, depending on the type of stay you need we can recommend a hotel to suit you.


Excursions and Visits

Excursions include trips to places such as:
Dublin, Glendalough, Newgrange, Millmount, Wicklow Mountains, Carlingford Lough, and many more.
