Excursions and Local Attractions
There are too many options to mention them all. Edinburgh is a brilliant place - it has history (castles, dungeons and ghosts), culture (art galleries, theatres, museums and Festivals), beautiful architecture (the New Town and the Old Town, both UNESCO world heritage areas), green places and open space.
There are hills and beaches within the city and good sporting facilities for almost every imaginable taste. Cycling, Tennis, Golf, Swimming Pools and Gyms, Bowling to name a few.
Edinburgh is also a good centre for touring Scotland's Highlands and Lowlands, lochs, rivers and mountains.
We live in the very trendy port area at the Shore, Leith, with its bars, cafes and restaurants, including 3 Michelin Star restaurants. The Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed 5 minutes walk from our flat, at Ocean Terminal which has shops, restaurants, gym, beauty spa, cinemas and children's entertainment. To get to the city centre from our flat takes 10 minutes by bus which leaves every 5 minutes.
