ILSONLINE in Otranto ILS is an Italian Language School established on 2003 and based in Otranto, Italy, it’s located in a new renovated building, in a lovely residential area of Otranto with a lot wide green where the student can relax, 50 meters from the sea, 5 minutes from the city centre and the rail station by foot. The school is trying to distinguish itself from other Italian language schools through its teaching methods (a gradual didactic program) suited to every student and group. We pay a lot of attention to the special needs of each student and the teaching method is based on a fundamental communicative approach, where the grammatical elements are taught and practiced through conversation.

ILS’s objective is to offer high quality, stimulating Italian language lessons in a warm and friendly environment. Classes have a max of 8 students, using teaching methods that focus on developing conversational skills, without neglecting the study of grammatical structure.

No special pre-requisites are necessary to attend our Italian Language courses. At the end of the courses every student receives a certificate which states the attained knowledge of Italian.

The Italian Language School ILS makes use of a new course of Italian language for foreigners. The handbook will carry the students from absolute beginners to the advanced level. It is divided into three levels and is made up of:

Students are placed in classes as a result of spoken and written ability tests. Five experienced Italian teachers, university graduated and qualified to teach Italian language and culture will teach in each class, each taking care of a different side of the Italian language: grammatical, spoken and written. Classes are small and limited to 8 students of various nationalities.

The Teaching method used in our Italian Language Courses are structured to facilitate the development of your ability to communicative without neglecting the importance of grammatical structure.
The ILS Method teaches Italian through a process of quick-fire questions and answers and, through a specific handbook Students actively exercise the other integral functions of language: reading and writing.
With our method the students take only 40 hours to speak and understand basic Italian, otherwise the Italian Language School will give you free Italian lessons until successful.

Our school has a wide recreative program: we organize disco and theatre nights, quiz games, sport competitions, movies, dinners in the garden, tambourine course, tours on horses or by bike, canoe or ship.
You can surf, play tennis, football, karate and karting.
There is also the possibility of diving with the help of a professional team.
We also organize architectural and artistic trips all around Otranto with special regard to Maglie, Lecce and Salentinian Greece, wine tasting and Gastronomic tours in Salento.

The accommodation is in the building in which the school is located, in double or single rooms. Rooms have heating, air conditioning, television, and some have a balcony with ocean views, a veranda. Sheets and towels are supplied and included in the price. The cleaning of the room and changing of linen happens every week. Your accommodation is considered reserved from 3:00 p.m. the day of your arrival to 10:00 a.m. the day of your departure.
