Excursions and Local Attractions
Cascais, Lisbon, 25-min drive to Lisbon International Airport, is the most charming resort on the Lisbon coastline. A paradise for golf, surfing & sailing lovers and the eco-tourist in general. Walk/jog /ride a bike along a 7-mile waterfront stretch from the unspoiled Guincho beaches, dotted with excellent fish restaurants, to Cascais bay. On the way, stop at Boca do Inferno or the Marina for coffee/drink/lunch/ dinner and the views! Further down, you'll see the Fortress. On your left, you can visit the C. G. Museum and walk through the beautiful Park. If you are keen on modern art, the Paula Rego Museum is right there. Then get on the bustling Maritime walk Cascais-Estoril. Cascais, an ancient fishing village "with good air", became, in the 19th century, the most upscale seaside resort in the district of Lisbon, as the king chose it as a summer residence. The romantic town of Sintra, a world heritage site & Cape Roca, Europe's most west point, are just a 15-min drive.
