Cabanes (Girona), Spain: You will be staying in a typical village house originally built in 1812, recently renovated and modernized, with three stories (there is no elevator) and a terrace on the fourth floor with beautiful views on the Pyrenees. In sunny winter days we have lunch in the terrace and in summer we have breakfast and dinner up there.
Classes are offered in the first floor, while the dining and TV rooms are in the second floor. Bedrooms and the student(s) full bathroom are in the third floor. |

Excursions and Local Attractions
The region offer possibilities of excursions for all tastes. From a peaceful half hour walk from Cabanes to Peralada to buy local and foreign newspapers and have coffee with magnificent pastries in the Cafeteria del Castell; visiting the well-restored Saint Peter of Rhodes Monastery up in the mountains; or the stunning Parks and Protected Natural Spaces of Catalonia which offer such a wide range that every visitor, adventure-seeker, and nature-lover alike is bound to find something to his or her liking. Where else can you see Greek and a Roman coastal trading centers in a single, easily accessible archaeological site, visit a museum, and then bathe at a sandy beach on the Mediterranean for a cost of less than three euros? And the city of Besalú, the birthplace of the medieval troubadour Romain Vidal is just 40 km. from Cabanes. This gem of a village, with only 2200 inhabitants, was recently declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The church of the village dates back to 1003.
