Perth is a modern, clean, safe, low-cost city which ‘floats’ on the Swan River close to the Indian Ocean. The English language school in Perth Australia is in the heart of the city and only about 15 minutes' drive from the beach.
The school occupies modern, open-plan premises in a street with wide pavements and al fresco restaurants. There is a Student Common Room with TV, fridge and microwave ovens, and a games area. We share our building with one of Perth's most established hotels, the King's Hotel.
The classrooms have good-quality tape recorders, overhead projectors, whiteboards, and comfortable seating. The guaranteed maximum class size is 12. The minimum age is 16. Your Study Folder is provided free of charge, and your text-books are loaned to you without charge.
The Student Resource Centre (SRC) has broadband internet access for email and web browsing, with guidance available; multimedia networked computers equipped for language study; video recording and playback equipment; self-access listening facilities for practising listening and speaking skills; newspapers, magazines, and other reading and reference material. Buses are free in the city centre. A bar and a café are located on the ground floor. Free city-centre buses stop in front of the school. Perth City Centre Library is next door to the school. Membership is free. World-class medical care is available in the Medical Centre 5 minutes' walk away. Your WE Student Card entitles you to discounts for many goods and services around the city.
Social and Cultural Activities
A programme of social events and activities allows you to practise your English and enjoy yourself at the same time. There is a Welcome Party for new students, and there are usually 3 social activities on offer per week. Snorkelling, horse-riding, golf, catamaran sailing, picnics, barbecues and visits to vineyards, farms and the Bush are examples of such activities. Parrots, laughing kookaburras, and pelicans grace Perth’s parks and rivers. The beaches and reefs, minutes away, are perfect for surfing and scuba-diving. Travel north to the tropics, south to world-class vineyards, or east to historic farming and gold-mining towns. Perth is alive by night in restaurants, pubs, food stalls and dancing spots.
We take great care in arranging your accommodation. You can choose to stay with an Australian family, or in a private room without meals, or in a student hostel, or you can stay on campus at the 3-star King's Perth Hotel, which offers World English students very reasonable residential rates.
